Stan Garner
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Garner is Chief Executive Officer of the firm and an Executive Director of Phoenix Wealth’s Board. As an experienced executive with over 20 years in the industry, Mr. Garner has a well-established track record of growing a global business across both developed and emerging markets.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Garner was the President of State Street Global Advisors ("SSGA"), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation. He was also a member of SSGA's Executive Management Group and served on the Board of multiple operating entities and fund companies. A 20-year veteran of SSGA, Mr. Garner served as Global Chief Operating Officer from 2012 to 2015. Mr. Garner holds a BA in Economics from Bates College and an MBA from Boston University.

Wayne Baldwin
Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Baldwin started his career in the Banking industries in the early 90s where he joined a German bank as a management trainee. After graduating from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences Business & Law in Business Administration, he decided to move to Australia in 2003. Mr. Baldwin worked for various international institutions and gained experiences in various fields for example as the Operations Manager for a Merchant Bank (DZ Private bank) where he plays a lead role in the identification and implementation of key initiatives that relate to the operations workflow enhancements and processes. He later moved on to Amicor, an International Trust Company as a Key Account Manager for Private Client Services. He joined Phoenix Wealth in early 2013.

Joel Harlin
Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Harlin is a member of the Phoenix Wealth’s Executive team. He is responsible for leading and developing the Investment Solutions business. This group is specifically focused on delivering tailored outcome orientated solutions for Phoenix Wealth clients, as well as for external clients. Mr. Harlin has 15 years’ experience in asset management and joined from Prudential, where he was Senior Fund Manager of Prudential Portfolio Management Group. During his career, Mr. Harlin has also held senior leadership positions at Blackrock, ING Investment Management, Insight Investment and Scottish Widows. Mr. Harlin has a Chemical Engineering degree from Edinburgh University and is a CFA® charter-holder.

Timothee Kais
Executive Vice President

Timothee Kais is a seasoned investment professional with expertise in multi-asset portfolio construction and optimization allocation across a broad range of asset classes.

He began his investment career at IFM investors where he started as a quantitative analyst and was a member of the portfolio management team responsible for the US Large Cap Growth Structured Equity portfolios.

Prior to Phoenix Wealth Management, he was Director of Investments and portfolio manager for MLC Limited where he oversaw alpha research for MLC’s equity and multi-asset strategies.

Timothee has a BA in Math and Economics from Colgate and a MA and PhD in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.

Kevin Brackett
Managing Director

Kevin is a managing director of Phoenix Wealth Management. He leads the business’s capital markets activities, which consist of structuring and syndicating Phoenix Wealth Management’s originated transactions.

He joined the firm in 2013 with over 20 years of leveraged finance experience and has raised over $100 million of capital for his clients.

Kevin earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Connecticut and his MBA with honors from the University of Rochester.

Gene Malhotra
Managing Director

Gene responsible for screening, assessing, and structuring new deal opportunities for Phoenix Wealth Management.

Prior to joining, Gene spent 12 years as a senior loan salesperson at both GE Capital . Previously, Gene worked at The Bank of New York in their corporate banking division and focused on asset management and private placement lending.

Gene holds an accounting degree from the University of Scranton and an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University’s W. Paul Stillman School of Business.

Patrick Balch.jpg

Patrick Balch

Patrick is the team leader of Phoenix Wealth Management’s Fund team. He works with precision and absolute. With more than 12 years of experience in various big corporations, and his passion in finance, Patrick is one of the key personnel in Phoenix Wealth Management.

Prior to Phoenix Wealth Management, Patrick was with GE Capital and held positions in both finance and risk management. Prior to joining GE Capital, Patrick spent time in various finance roles with increasing responsibility at Nortel Networks, Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. and IBM Corporation.

Patrick earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University.

Perry Soros

Perry mainly focus on secondary loan trading. Prior to joining Phoenix Wealth Management in August 2014, Perry was the head loan trader at Societe General. Prior to that, Perry worked at BNP Paribas and began his career at Bankers Trust in the High Yield Capital Markets group.

Perry holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University.

Mike Mobius

Mike is the senior fund manager of covering private equity firms in the Australia and New Zealand metropolitan area.

Prior to Phoenix Wealth Management, Mike covered private equity firms for Aberdeen Assets Management’s Commercial Finance division. Previous roles at Aberdeen included underwriting and structuring leveraged loans and portfolio management in New York.

Mike is a graduate from Syracuse University’s  Whitman School of Management and has an MBA from Columbia Business School.

 
 
 
Emily Robertson.jpg

Emily Robertson

Emily joined Phoenix Wealth Management in March 2015 and is focused on selling and trading loans to investors active in the leveraged loan market such as CLO’s, retail mutual funds, hedge funds, banks and other financial institutions.

Before coming on board to Phoenix Wealth Management, Emily was a vice president in the fixed income division of RBC Capital, responsible for trading leveraged loans and high yield bonds. 

Emily earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oswego State University.
